Amanda Thompson is a small-town girl with the love of books, just like a certain princess in a certain movie that came out over thirty years ago. But unlike that lucky girl, Amanda doesn’t have a castle with talking clocks or candelabras. But with her fear of technology taking over the world, thanks to a different movie, Amanda is glad she doesn’t have the talking appliances. She does, however, have a teenage daughter that she loves deeply and a cat named Spock. If Amanda is not working at her day job, writing her latest idea, reading someone else’s wonderful work, you can find her spending time with her family. Or trying to win the war against the villain known as laundry. Amanda is a lover of clean sweet fairy tales and fantasy and that is what she promises to do her best at writing.
I am what you would consider a "pantser" I get an idea and I just start writing.
But my process is a little different from most authors. You see I have to write in a journal first. I have tried for years to go straight to the computer and begin typing. Sadly that does not work for me.
After I have the story in the journal I then type it up and make a few changes or edits before sending it off for developmental edits. This is the process of paying someone to go over my story find issues, what works, or if there are crucial details missing. Once this is done. The line and proofread edits are next!
Those last two edits I pay someone to read through make sure the sentence structure is well done and that the dreaded "typos" are to a minimum. I am human and I hire human editors, there will still be a few typos when the story hits the hands of my Advance Review Copy (ARC) Team. These lovely people read the story to post reviews and find the rest of the typos! (They are truly wonderful!)
After the ARCs are done it is time for publication!
I hope you enjoyed that look into my process!
